CLINICAL RESEARCH AT

NORTH TEXAS ENDOCRINE CENTER

North Texas Endocrine Center conducts pharmaceutical clinical trials for a wide range of endocrine diseases although the primary focus has been on diabetes research on type 1 and 2 patients. We have been conducting endocrine-related clinical research for close to 20 years and have participated in over 100 trials focusing on the development of new drugs. Our research has resulted in many important drugs coming to market for the benefit of our patient’s health. Our dedicated staff of clinical research coordinators, with over 40 years of combined experience in the execution of these trials, are committed to providing the best environment for patients. Our research department, supervised by our physician investigators, are dedicated to conducting our trials to improve the health of those who participate and those who may benefit from the drugs in the future.

People who participate in clinical research have a special relationship with our research staff. They receive the benefits of free care of our dedicated physicians and staff with compensation for their efforts to advance their health and the health of all patients with endocrine disorders.

CARDIOVASCULAR

WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES

ENROLL TODAY
A Phase III, double-blind, randomized, parallel-group superiority trial to evaluate efficacy and safety of the combined use of oral vicadrostat (BI 690517) and empagliflozin compared with placebo and empagliflozin in participants with type 2 diabetes, hypertension and established cardiovascular. In order to qualify, you must be: • Have high blood pressure (hypertension) and are currently taking medication for it • Have Type 2 Diabetes and are currently taking medication for it • Have established Cardiovascular Disease

WEIGHT LOSS

FOR PEOPLE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES

ENROLL TODAY
Are you living with Type 2 diabetes and currently taking Ozempic®? You may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study evaluating a potential treatment for weight management. You may qualify if you: • Have Type 2 diabetes • Currently take Ozempic® 1.0 mg or 2.0 mg • Have been taking your current dose for at least 90 days • Are not currently taking insulin Additional eligibility requirements apply. WEIGHT LOSS

WITH ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE

ENROLL TODAY
If you have Type 2 diabetes or do not have diabetes and have elevated blood pressure, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study evaluating a potential treatment for weight management. You may qualify if you: • Have a resting systolic blood pressure between 140 and 160 mmHg • Have not used a GLP-1 medication (including compound GLP’s, wegovy, zepbound, Ozempic, monjaro)  within the past 90 days Additional eligibility requirements apply. HYPOGLYCEMIA

LEVELS DURING THE NIGHT

ENROLL TODAY
Clinical trial to evaluate an investigational medication which may lower the risk of experiencing low glucose levels during the night. This clinical trial will help determine how well ZT-01, an investigational drug, works in reducing hypoglycemia and the safety and tolerability of three dose levels of ZT-01 in adults with T1D. Key Eligibility Criteria: • Are between the ages of 18 to 75 • Have lived with T1D for at least five years • Have recently experienced low glucose levels
